"Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you also have a Master in heaven. Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should. Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."
Colossians 4:1-6
Hawk's air-springed muscles helped him glide
so swiftly down the mountain side
with sinew buldging spotted rump
he vaulted o'r a rocky hump
Decendants of Chief Joseph's herd
Hawk's canter was like a flying bird
Swollen streams couldnt break his stride
His head held high with Nes Pierce pride
I rode that steed with fleeting speed
his strong legs breaking through high weed
hailstones splattered, horseshoes clattered
and a flock of wild grouse chattered
On shale slid Hawk, tripped and stumbled
down the slope we flipped and tumbled
the snow flakes started swirling down
as I lay hurt, on rocky ground
I was dazed, my body aching
Dizzy, sore and both legs shaking
we both felt pain from head to toes
Yet hurt, Hawk raised me with his nose
I wrapped my wounds and mounting, moaned
said " Come Hawk, now take us home"
around his nect my arms were tied
he started down the mountain side
I dreamed of being safe and warm
As Hawk plowed through that raging storm
and somewhere on that awful trek
I slumped across that great arched neck
Then thoughts came flooding in my head
my wife sat crying by my bed
I wont forget those words she said
"He brought you home...but Hawk is dead"
"For three whole days you've been alseep
the snow outside is five feet deep
once you were home safe and sound
Hawk whinnied once, then dead fell down."
She said "He brought you here on will
and fell when coming down that hill
his legs were gone, but still he came
and when he stopped you breathed his name"
"Oh, no! My God it just cant be."
The screams were coming out of me
"Oh, please don't tell me Hawk has died!"
Then my wife held me while I cried
I know he wasnt man, of course
But just a big ol spotted horse
So tell me, should I miss him so?
A friend who took me through the snow.

SCATTERED CIRCLES" ~ by JEAN WOLF
GONE ARE THE GREAT HERDS
OF OUR BROTHER THE BUFFALO.
GONE ARE THE GREAT CAMP CIRCLES
THE LODGES OF A PROUD PEOPLE.
THEY ARE SCATTERED....
LIKE GRAINS OF SAND UPON THE DESERT FLOOR.
SCATTERED LIKE DRY LEAVES
BLOWN UPON THE FOUR WINDS.
NO LONGER DO OUR YOUNG
SEEK AND HONOR THE OLD WAYS.
THEY GROW FAR FROM THEIR ROOTS
IN A WORLD NO LONGER THEIRS.
WHEN ONE STOPS AND TAKES COUNT
OUR ELDERS LIKE ANCIENT TREES,
FALL ONE BY ONE.
MANY WINTERCOUNTS PASSED...THEY LEAVE US.
THESE GRANDFATHERS AND GRANDMOTHERS,
THE LAST WHO REMAIN THAT WALKED THE RED ROAD
IN THE WAYS THE CREATOR INTENDED
HIS RED CHILDREN TO WALK.
SOON THEY SHALL SLEEP UNDER THE GRASS
BUT THEIR SPIRITS WILL WANDER.
THEY WILL COME SEEKING THE FEW
WHO STILL CARRY WITHIN THEIR BREAST A "RED HEART."
THEY WILL COME TO YOU
IN WAYS YOU MAY DEEM STRANGE.
BUT THIS IS HOW THEY WILL REACH YOU.
WHISPERING TO THOSE THAT HAVE THE EARS TO HEAR.
LISTEN CAREFULLY MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS
THE ANCESTORS CALL YOUR NAME.
YOUR PEOPLE NEED YOU.....AWAKEN!
Thanksgiving Prayer after Mass
Prayer of St. Thomas Aquinas
I thank you, holy Lord, almighty Father, eternal God, who deigned to feast me, sinful and unworthy servant, with the precious body and blood of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, not for any merit of mine, but only because of your merciful goodness. And I pray that this Holy Communion, far from condemning me to punishment, may bring about my pardon and salvation, encompassing me with the armor of faith and the shield of a good will. By it let my vices be done away, all lustful desires extinguished. May it advance me in charity, patience, humility, obedience, and every other virtue. Let it be strong defense against the wiles of all my enemies, visible and invisible, allaying for me every disturbance of flesh and spirit, binding me firmly to you, the one true God, and bringing my last hour to a happy close. I pray, too, that it may be your pleasure to call my sinful self one day to that banquet, wonderful past all telling, where you, with your Son and the Holy Spirit, feast your saints with the vision of yourself, who are true light, the fulfillment of all desires, the joy that knows no ending, gladness unalloyed, and perfect bliss: through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Sometimes you get derailed and fall off the track
Age it's only a capsule of time
Passing by without a hint of rhyme
Once beautiful, full of vim and vigor
Eventually the days grow lazy
The body less eager
Each passing day we seem to be more connected and a little more wise
In retrospect
We've already won the steadfast prize
The feeling of peace and contentment
Has remained elusive until now
For the first time i feel conclusive this feeling was truely sent
Words spoken along the way
Encouragement like everything will come together
Some sweet unsuspected day
Surviving the stormy weather, come what may
The old cliche, ' You've come a long way baby '
You've listened and learned
Of the meaning maybe
You've learned that life is not always exact
Sometimes you get derailed
And fall off the rail road track
Life flows along, not always in perfect sync
But somehow you've always been able
To find the missing link
Finding complete happiness and treasured friends along the journeyed way
Makes it all worth while, this trip from yerterday to tomorrow
Is a memory that i wish will remain forever
And until my last day

Becoming the person that you want to be is a lifelong journey. Everyday we should learn something new about life, and about ourselves. Some people choose to value who they are by the pursuit and acquisition of material things, instead of trying to gain and pass qualities to others that will last for generations to come. Being everything that you can be involves the pursuit of becoming better than you were the day before.
Make a pledge to seek wisdom, to be helpful, respectful, and reliable to those around you, not only for good karma, but to also be a great example of what a person should be to those around you. Be a person of compassion, of motivation, and determination. Set goals for yourself and accomplish them. Go for your dreams, and inspire others to go for their dreams as well. Be, because you can be everything, and anything that you set your mind too. Most importantly, be yourself
